According to Wikipedia, “In marketing, lead generation is the initiation of consumer interest or enquiry into products or services of a business. Leads can be created for purposes such as list building, e-newsletter list acquisition or for sales leads.”

The same article says that lead nurturing “ is the process of continuously contacting the potential buyer to update information and to improve the knowledge of the customer throughout the buying process.

For simplification, I use lead generation (or lead gen) to mean both lead generation AND lead nurturing.
